Who is Buffalo Community Theater?

Buffalo Community Theater is more than just a group of eccentric local artists who put on plays and throw cast parties. Since its modest beginning in 1987 with just a handful of determined people, it has developed into a significant theater voice in Central Minnesota.

As a long-running community theater, it has meant so much to so many people.

For many, it has been the opportunity to travel in a new creative direction and to accomplish more personal growth than years of therapy! See an accountant become a sultry femme fatale, a police reserve officer become an innocent toddler with a blanket, or a history teacher belt out a Broadway song.

For some, it is a great way to get together with like-minded people and entertain the community. For a few, it has been a way to reconnect with activities after confronting a serious health diagnosis. The ability to step into a safe and nurtured alternative world for a few hours is an appreciated break from difficult times. For others, romance is found. Engagements and marriages celebrated their first sparks on the BCT stage.

BCT also offers an opportunity for children to experience theater. It has been a training ground to further acting, dancing, singing and technical theater pursuits. Our BCT “kids” have ended up scattered around the country, doing theater in numerous professional and amateur roles.

Live theater opens eyes and thoughts to another way of looking at the world. Through theater we can step into a different time and place. Theater can change lives.

Above all else, Buffalo Community Theater is a collection of richly diverse people, working hard, having fun, and achieving a common creative goal through uncommon means– singing, acting, dancing, painting, playing an instrument, running a spotlight, or ushering a theater-goer to their seat.

Come see what BCT has waiting in the wings!
